CGS faced increasing challenges with a complex network environment involving multiple technologies and protocols. Their legacy infrastructure posed scalability limitations and single points of failure, risking service disruptions and customer dissatisfaction. As network traffic and bandwidth demands grew due to more connected devices, the existing architecture struggled to keep up in both performance and cost efficiency. Additionally, the rapid evolution of technologies like SDN, NFV, IoT, 5G, edge computing, cloud and AI/ML highlighted the need for a more agile, future-ready network.

CGS and ALE engaged in a comprehensive demo and proof of concept (PoC) to ensure that Shortest Path Bridging (SPB) would meet the goal of reducing downtime. The ALE solution, based on SPB, offered simpler management and greater cost-effectiveness, leading CGS to choose this solution to enhance their network performance and operational efficiency.
