The Myriad is a dedicated student housing property developer and operator, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Strategic Housing Group (SHG), a real estate investment, management and operating firm across the middle East.

The Myriad Dubai is a fully-integrated, urban-styled student living community located in the heart of Dubai International Academic City in the UAE, where over 26,000 students study at 30 universities. Comprised of seven blocks with a capacity of housing 2250 residents, the project is spread over 68,000 square meters and located within walking distance of most universities in Dubai Academic City.

The Myriad Muscat is designed to offer accommodations exclusively for young women in the Sultanate of Oman. With a capacity of housing 2700 residents, the project is spread over 100,000 square meters and located near universities in Al Seeb, Muscat. Whether they are students or trainees, any resident of The Myriad Muscat is part of a safe and secure female community.

The Myriad accommodations represent a world class student lifestyle and embody a fresh living experience based on in-depth research and analysis of today’s local and global students’ expectations. The young residents are likely to spend more time on the internet, be it research, homework, social media, streaming videos or gaming. Hence it was imperative for the company to select the advanced technology to match.

For The Myriad properties, it was important to embrace new technologies that accommodate modern living built for a young population in Dubai and Muscat. From a technology perspective, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise was able to offer the properties a cloud-based converged wired-wireless LAN solution that provided the level of connectivity the residents would expect, and at an affordable cost with value. The overall deployment is comprised of over 70 LAN switches and 1900 wireless access points at each property, while The Myriad Dubai also implemented an ALE Unified Communications solution. LAN & WAN Technologies was the implementation partner for The Myriad Dubai, and Telephony Communication Technologies for The Myriad Muscat.
